String Quilt in progress
Here is the heartstrings quilt I started in the last post. The top is done and turned out to be a little larger than a twin. I've named it "Cree Dreams". My BF thinks that it matches my heritage. I'm Blackfeet and Cree Indian. My mom would always say when I was dressed in a lot of color that the Cree was coming out in me. Well, that's a good thing. So when he saw this quilt coming together he said the same thing. I told him well who'll know what color it is when the lights are out? I love it and when piecing it, I would send him pictures of my progress. When it was in this stage, he said that he did think it was cool. It looks 3D. It does but it wasn't by design. It got me to thinking that I should do another and concentrate on making it 3D. What's really neat about this quilt is I got to use my stash. The only fabric I bought was the backing (brown flannel) and the dark border.
I have the quilt on my HQ16 but am having tension issues so I'm stalled for the moment. I have checked and rechecked the threading, oiled it, but in a new needle and will check today to see if I have the needle in correctly. When I get it quilted I will post a picture.

Another Blogger
I almost forgot the gal who got me started was Sue http://alderwoodquilts.blogspot.com/. She lives in my neck of the woods. Everyone is so talented. I'm humbled but enthused.
My HeartStrings Quilt
I've been thinking since my first post, what can I say? I've been reading a lot of blogs and they are so interesting. I read Judy L's blog http://www.patchworktimes.com/ and she's so interesting. I've gotten a few recipies from her. Then there's Mary's Quilts where I saw her pattern for HeartStrings Quilts. I found it so interesting that I started one last weekend and I'm ready to sew my rows together. http://maryquilts.com/. When I get it all put together I'll show you some pictures. Thanks Mary. I read a lot of blogs everyday. They almost seem to take up so much of my sewing time. I can't help it. It's fun to see what others are doing with their quilting.
I'm not sure how to use the links feature. When I see links it usually doesn't have the address. Any suggestions?
