Tops Done!

Judy's Bears in the Farmshouse quilt top is finished. My granddaughter, Jana is going to love it. I even stepped out of my box and mitered the corners. It definately isn't fast and I probably should unsew a couple of the corners but I'm not going to.

Too Much To Do

Here it is Sunday already and I feel like I haven't done anything yet. I was going to finish my Bears in the Farmhouse top and so far I have two more borders to go. I'll get one of them done. I did get the back washed and dried for it. It is a purple batik. It's going to look wonderful. I'll put a picture up once I get the top completed. That's it for sewing.

I'm making bread now and going in and out of the house washing clothes and seeing what I can do to help my beau who's outside working. He's mowing the yard and is going to try this new thatcher blade we got yesterday. We are trying to improve the grass and getting rid of the moss and the grass we don't like.

The hummingbirds are here! We have around 8 of them that we can count. I put up another feeder and they are fighting over it. No surprise there. They are very territorial, but lots of entertainment.

I hope everyone's weekend went like you planned. Even though I didn't get any one single thing done, I did do a lot. I even relaxed. See you soon.

TaDa

I finished my last step so far for the Bears in the Farmhouse. I think my number 2 granddaughter, Jana, will love it. She's a purple person.

Hummers

These guys have just started coming to the feeder this last week. There are about 6 of them. They are so much fun to watch. Fiesty critters.

I'm going to finish my last border for the Bears in the Farmhouse project today. Have fun and enjoy your Sunday.

It's Spring!

I'm so happy that we are having a nice day. My beau is out trimming the apple trees and I'm putting on my last border of step 4 for my Bears in the Farmhouse. I showed a picture of it to my second granddaughter Jana. She loves the colors and that gramma gramma made it. So instead of using the red for the border, I'm changing it to purple. She has a new bedroom and her mom said she could pick her color. Of course purple. I think I'll make a pillowcase for her too. Talk to you later.

Bears in the Farmhouse

I sewed all weekend. It was so much fun. My beau was playing games on the computer while I was quilting. It sure made quilting more fun. We could talk as we both were doing our own things. I was so far behind in the Bears in the Farmhouse. I only had my HSTs done. Here's the block and the quilt so far. I only have one more sashing to do and I'm all caught up! Yeah!

BOM Club

Decided to go to my BOM today instead Saturday. We're suppose get monsoon type weather tomorrow and I don't want to drive about 60 miles in the rain. I have a coupon that I want to take advantage of. I will probably get some batting.

My beau and I planted a ton of iris last week. We think they've already started growing. I doubt it, probably wishful thinking.
The first photo are the irises. We got about 100 from my Beau's sister gave them to us. I think we ended up with twice as many because we split them. We planted them by the fence because of the weeds that migrate over the fence from the field on the other side.
The second pic are of some bulbs that have started growing from what we planted last fall. Don't know what they are. Again some hand-me-downs from another sister. The have some light lavendar blue-bell type flowers on them.

Long Week

It's been a long week. I get so antsy to sew I can hardly work. This was one of those weeks. I work 9 hour days and every other Friday I get off. I so look forward to those Fridays. Here is the auction quilt I completed. I'm not happy with it. I was having problems with the tension on my HQ16. Finally got it working and got it quilted. I hope the auction went well for the 5th graders.

Now I'm free to continue sewing on my Bears in the Farmhouse. Talk to you later.

Auction Quilt

I'm working on a quilt I told you about a couple of weeks ago for a 5th grade class. It's a quilt the kids help to make and will be auctioned off next Thursday to help raise funds for items the school doesn't provide. I don't think these funds are going to play equipment but maybe to use for field trips. So after the kids got their appliques on, I'm doing the rest. I'm embroidering the center block of the teacher's name and the phase the students wanted.

I Want to Use My Stash - With Judy

I decided to play with Judy. She's providing instructions for a quilt top using only our stash. She's not providing a picture of the quilt because then we would want to buy fabric to make it. So here is my fabric choices for her stash quilt.
